Want to do something BIG for God but don't have a clue where to start? This is your chance to learn from someone who's already doing it!
Make plans to join us for CCM's second Home Group Conference on Saturday, September 6th, led by Randall Neighbor, Director of Touch Outreach Ministries. Rarely do we get an opportunity to glean from a very humble ministry family that has literally changed history in many parts of the world. It's like learning about evangelism from Billy Graham! Even more amazing is that he has custom designed this conference specifically for our church! It will be way too good to miss!
Randall's father, Ralph Neighbor, Jr., is one of the pioneers to teach the cell group concept. He has literally traveled the globe starting churches and training them to use cell groups effectively. In fact, he personally introduced cell groups to Singapore years ago while co-pastoring a church there. Within a few years the church grew from 600 to 6,000, and is over 10,000 members strong today. His son, Randall, now continues his ministry and will be our speaker.
Conference Topics
"Last year we concentrated on the vision and mission of home groups," explained Shawn Barr, our enthusiastic Director of Home Groups for CCM and CCMV. "This year we'll be centering on the core team concept. A core team is made up of committed home group members, plus the leader, who meet once a month. The core team prays and makes final decisions about the vision and mission of the home group, then sets things in motion to carry out that vision. Learning this concept will help us bridge the gap from where we're at to where we can be so that every group can accomplish something big for God."
The conference will be very interactive and is open to other churches as well as Calvary. It's geared for anyone involved in any kind of a small group, or even interested in getting involved in one, and entire groups are encouraged to come catch the vision and get involved in the planning process. Topics will include:
- Missional Living in Small Groups
- Keeping Christ at the Center of Your Meetings
- Peer Coaching
- The Core Team Concept
Your group will leave with the next six weeks of activities planned and a specific strategy to grow and accomplish big things for God!
Shawn said CCM/CCMV's home group ministry has grown about 25% since the conference last year. "From January of '07 to September of '08, we've grown from 30 home groups to nearly 50, and we've heard testimony after testimony from groups that have multiplied and seen many lives changed. One home group alone had 12 people in their group get baptized last month, and they're not only getting saved, they're serving as they learn by example. The groups are implementing this vision and the results are incredible!"
Registration
For $15 per person, participants will receive a continental breakfast, lunch and materials. You can register at the Home Group Table at CCM in the Commons or at the Resource Table at CCMV. If you prefer to pay by credit card you can register at either The Chapel Store or on-line. Child care will be available for $7 per family, which will also include lunch for the children. All children MUST be pre-registered.
