CCMV: New Land

By now you’ve probably heard the great news that CCMV has bought land to build! But you’ve probably got questions. How are things going? When do they hope to break ground? When do they hope to have it open?
You’ve got questions? We’ve got answers! (Well, some anyway!)
We caught up with builder Ken Welsh for an update. According to Ken, Calvary Chapel is under contract to purchase 16 acres situated next to Manatees Stadium and across the street from Viera High School. They are working in cooperation with The Viera Company and have engaged an architect and an engineer. Both the design aspect and the permitting process are also well under way. Ken said they hope to break ground sometime mid-summer and the project is estimated to be under construction for approximately 15 months, weather permitting.
The plan is to reproduce a smaller version of the front of CCM’s sanctuary, starting with an auditorium that would seat 1,000. The main difference would be the CCMV sanctuary would be walled off where the balcony at CCM begins. The area behind it would initially provide space for a full children’s ministry, a large junior and senior high room and administration offices. Then, when additional sanctuary seating is needed, that wall would be knocked down to increase seating and an additional area would be built to house everything else.
According to Ken, “God continues to grow the church in Viera and things are going very smoothly with the building plans. The sense we get is that people in Viera are very excited about it, and everyone has been extremely cooperative.”
Pastor Dean agrees. “We are thrilled with what God is doing at CCMV, and the new building will make it that much easier to show people in Viera how much God loves them. We’re excited to see what God will do!”
