The Edge

The Edge group gives preteens a place where they can grow in their relationship with Christ and make long lasting Christian friends in a place that’s all their own. They’re not kids anymore…but they’re not teens, so we look to guide these preteens to discover the “why” of their faith in Jesus Christ and to help them to build a firm foundation they can depend on for the rest of their lives.

How do we reach these goals? Large Group and small group teachings of course! Weekend services give preteens a time to socialize and get to know each other and their mentors before studying through God’s Word together. Then they break up into small groups to dig deeper and personalize what they learned. Wednesday nights holds a preteen youth group style worship setting with live worship and a devotional study book that they will learn to use throughout the week to grow in their personal relationship with Jesus Christ.  Events and even a trip during the summer help to give these preteens a way of testing what they know and chances to serve others. Preteens want to feel independent, but also know they are not alone. Our mentors help them to find that balance.

The EDGE brings real life for a preteen face to face with God’s Word and challenges this next generation of leaders to go to the edge of the universe for God.
