About a year ago Fusion, the young adult ministry at CCM Viera, began to form a relationship with R.E.A.L. Church located in Rockledge, Florida. Originally Fusion was going to assist with the summer tutoring program for R.E.A.L. Church called S.P.O.T. “Special Place for Our Teens.” After visiting the church and meeting with Pastor Jarvis Wash, it was easy to see how much he and his team love Jesus, as well as all their efforts that show the love of God to the young people that come through their church.

During the first meeting a young man battling drug addiction knocked on the door and asked for prayer. Pastor Jarvis and the Fusion leadership team paused the meeting to pray with him. Keith Gallo, Fusion’s leader, later discussed with the leadership team how to best join hands with the R.E.A.L. Church. Listening to the command issued in Mark 12:30-31 to love God and love others, Fusion agreed the best way they could serve was through renovating the room used for S.P.O.T..
Before the renovation, the room held three torn couches, an old foosball table, a 25 inch TV, and a few tables that could be moved to the middle of the room during the scheduled homework time. Also, a corner of the room was a makeshift nursery for the Sunday morning service.

January 19, 2012, kicked off the REAL Love outreach, a full-week of projects that transformed S.P.O.T. into a truly “special place.” His Hands of Brevard, Inc. and the CCM Viera Fusion team worked together on tasks, which included painting walls, lining the parking lot, pressure-washing, installing hardwood floor, building walls for the nursery, moving new furniture and setting up a computer area. On January 26 the renovation was complete, and R.E.A.L. Church held an open house party to celebrate.
God has opened doors through this facility renovation to better meet the needs of the R.E.A.L. Church community. It’s amazing to see how Our God Provides!
