Getting to Know the Church Fathers

Bryan M. Litfin
The author has a knack for making the history of the church fathers relevant to today’s church. Litfin makes ancient church history personal, relevant, and applicable by introducing ten of the church fathers to the reader. Litfin engages the reader and challenges them to get to know their spiritual heritage with these ten church fathers. He clears up some common misconceptions about them, but what he does best is something too few authors and teachers do today: Litfin applies the lessons and truths (of church history) to the lives of people today. Reading this book will inspire the reader to “contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints” (Jude 3).
