Remember His Love

Based on “The Valley of Blessing” by Pastor Mark Balmer; 1/23-24/10,

Message #MB405; Daily Devotional #5 - “Remember His Love”

Preparing the Soil (Introduction):  We love because he first loved us. (1 John 4:19)

Planting and Watering the Seed (Growth):  God loves you; He wants to bless you, and He wants good in your life. In the midst of day to day pressures, trials, and hurdles, we can forget God’s love for us. Yet God wants us to always remember His love for us. As Pastor Mark reminded us this weekend, God is a good God who wants to bless His children. And we need to rest in His promises and thank Him for His indescribable love. When the pressures of life are closing in on you, where do you turn? Do you have peace in your heart during the valleys of life? God wants you to rest in His peace, no matter what circumstances you face in life (John 14:27, 16:33). Turn to God and remember His eternal love for you. And when you read His Word, remember that He is speaking directly to you. He loves you more than you can imagine, and He will never fail you.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11)

Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commands. (Deuteronomy 7:9)

I love those who love me; and those who seek me find me. (Proverbs 8:17)

Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. (Psalm 37:4)

“Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.” (Psalm 91:14)

If you make the Most High your dwelling – even the Lord, who is my refuge – then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent. (Psalm 91:9-10)

Harvesting the Crop (Action/Response):  Whatever you are facing in life, allow God to speak to you. Allow Him to cover you in His love, grace, and protection. God is good and intends no harm for your life. He wants to bless you abundantly. Spend quiet time with Him and allow Him to speak to your heart. He wants your heart to be full of His love.

Cultivating (Additional Reading):  Psalm 103

This devotional reading today with all the scriptures quoted touched me to the core of my whole being. As I reflected ,there were numerous times He showed me His love.

First, He brought missionaries from America to the Philippines to introduce me to the "love of God that He gave His only Son and whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have the
everlasting life (John 3:16)."This beautiful couple and their children nurtured , discispled and loved me till I matured spiritually to the level that I was grounded on solid ground. Needless to say ,I am still in the process of growing and sharpening in Him.
In my career, I was always guided by the love of Christ to look at people in His eyes , to love them, listen to their hurts and let them know that He loved them as He has loved me.Some rejected Him but that was not unusual. Still I learned to pray for them as He did. The compassion, mercy, sensitivity humility and servant spirit for  people seem to be the gifts that
    the Lord has endowed me.
Life's tests followed . There were many of them in my married life as well. But the most
trying and difficult one was the death of two adult children--years apart. Any bereaved parent
can attest to the indescribable, shattering, agonizing and piercing pain that we go through.
Again, because of the love of God, He sustained me and was able to say like Job,I know my Redeemer lives (Job 19:25) And my children, who were loaned to me for a while, loved the Lord and are now with Him .Someday there will be a joyous reunion in heaven.
Hallelujah for this everlasting, faithful and true LOVE OF GOD.
