Accounting Department Assistant


FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Full-Time)

Hours: 40 Hours per week

Reports to: Senior Director of Accounting

Job Description

This position provides administrative, organizational, and various other support for the accounting department. Culture is a critical component. Job Requirements

Assist Bookkeeper-Cash Receipts staff to prepare bank deposits, including Café sales audit    spreadsheets 
Mail vendor checks, including attachments, and deliver internal payments to mailboxes
Scan contribution checks and offering envelopes 
Pick up, sort, open and distribute incoming company mail daily under dual control authority  
Maintain accounting records storage area and list of storage boxes
Maintain petty cash fund and replenishes petty cash
Administer change funds/cash boxes
Collect reimbursement funds for personal photocopies, postage, and print jobs
Prepare various filing folders, binders, and other organizational needs
Order supplies for accounting staff, as needed and other administrative tasks 
Keep confidential all personal information related to donations and money received
Assist Senior Director of Accounting with spreadsheet input
Function as a productive part of the church staff and attend staff meetings
Keep the ministry in the forefront of all you do
Other duties as assigned by Supervisor

Required Skills

Good written and verbal communication skills
Confident money-handling accounting skills
Effectively use MS Office software including Word and Excel for procedures and spreadsheets
Effectively use MS Outlook for email, calendars, tasks and contacts
Ability to learn and utilize Ministry Platform database
Ability to learn and utilize FENxt and Revel software to access financial reports and do budget input
