O Lord, Make Me a Living Testimony

For many years, I wore the label of being a Christian with great pride because I was born and raised in a Christian home. Ignorantly, I didn’t know what the difference between a Christian and a Christ follower was until the truth of the Word illuminated in my heart: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” (2 Corinthians 5:17) Living life as a Christ follower means making daily choices to live a lifestyle that will make God look good and prepare us for life in Heaven, versus living carelessly and bring reproach to the name of God.

Our daily prayer should be for God to make us a living testimony for Him in our public and private lives and as a result exhibit the following traits:

Proof of a changed life - Showing that God is now in control of our lives, not us, and this is manifested in our thoughts, actions and deeds. I recall a time when I was extremely careless in my speech and I began to pray for the Holy Spirit to help me control my tongue so I can bring Him glory.

Allowing the Truth of His Word (the Bible) to guide our daily situations, circumstances and events - Asking ourselves candid questions on what the Bible says about areas of our lives where we are currently not living as a testimony for God.

Share our testimony – The proof is in the pudding. Invite others to come and see what the Lord has done in your life

Christ follower, there will be obstacles. However, we must not allow these obstacles to derail our spiritual growth. Rather, we must be determined, repentant, draw strength from God, and keep moving forward. Doing this will draw us closer to a transformed life. If you are currently not a Christ follower, come and experience the only God that is able to make all things new in your life today. All glory to God!
