We are so blessed at CCM to have godly leaders that guide and encourage us. They show us the way to live according to God’s Word. I’m sure it can be very tiring and often without thanks, yet, out of their love for God and obedience to Him, they continue the work of building up the church. They encourage us and lead by love in action.
Paul’s prayer for the church is: “May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you.” (1 Thessalonians 3:12) I know for myself that I must keep praying to be filled with love for others. It comes easy when its people we like and get along, but not so easy when it comes to loving difficult people. However, The Lord can easily fill us and empower us as to show love to those around us. What a wonderful example of God’s love we show to the lost when we exercise love in action.
We make God look good when we pour into the lives of others with actions motivated by love. Whether its volunteering for Day of Compassion, helping a single parent or widow in need, or helping a neighbor, we become the hands and feet of Christ when we give of ourselves, our resources and our time to help bless and encourage others. As we continue to show love just as Christ has loved us, we can look forward to the day when the Lord calls us home and we hear him say “Well done my good and faithful servant.”
