I make known the end from the beginning from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.’ (Isaiah 46:10) Tending to choose options that keep us within the constraints of our comfort zones come naturally but are not necessarily the best options for us. God works in and through His followers, journeying through various seasons of life. Yet, He remains the same and His Kingdom knows no end. As this time of grace inevitably closes in, now is the time to step out of those comfort zones to focus on Jesus and expanding His Kingdom.
Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of Wisdom. (Psalm 90:12) Interestingly, someone once described our 24 hours available to us in one day as comparable to the amount of space we have when packing a suitcase. Although we are at liberty to put whatever we choose in our individual suitcases, space is limited. The time we have here on earth is limited.
I am always amazed at how effective the ministry of Jesus Christ was when He walked this earth. He dwelled among men for 33 years, three of which were spent in fulltime ministry. Reading through the gospels, we find the authority, passion, compassion and purpose with which Jesus ministered. It’s unmistakable! His ministry faced various types of challenges and opposition, all originating from Satan and his rebellion against God. Jesus came to give life and hope to the world, despite Satan’s destructive mission to rule the world. God is ultimately in control and Has victory over all His enemies!
For it is God who works in you to will and to act according to His purpose. (Philippians 2:13) There is hope today through Jesus Christ. Our ‘dark’ world will get darker as time goes by, but God’s shining light through His follower breaks through all shades of darkness. God’s plans will certainly come to pass. Be vigilant, prayerful and sensitive to the Holy Spirit, Who lives in us.
God is faithful to save everyone who repents and calls upon His name. He has also equipped Christ followers to bridge the gap, turning people from darkness into light, leading others in the path of righteousness.
