Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you. (Matthew 5:12)
When I hear the word Heaven, I think of perfection. For Jesus came down from Heaven and He is the picture of perfection. Jesus came to live on earth and provide a way for all humankind to join Him in His Father’s house of Heaven. "For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me” (John 6:38)
In the Book of Revelation we get a glimpse of what life will be like in Heaven (Revelation 4). There is no more sickness, no fear, no sadness, no darkness, and no persecution (Revelation 21:4, Revelation 22:3-7). We can live the life that God wanted us to enjoy when He created the earth.
We have one simple task in order to join our Heavenly Father. We are to accept Jesus Christ, as the Son of God, as our Lord, and as our Savior and repent of the sins that have held us in bondage all our lives. We are to break free from the chains of sin and live a life of freedom in Christ Jesus. “The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!” (Mark 1:15)
