If you're looking to visit us for the first time, we're here to answer your questions.
After finding yourself a parking spot, enter the building through the main walkway. Here you'll be greeted by one of our Guest Services volunteers. If you have kids, head to the left to our Kids' check-in desk, otherwise enjoy conversation in the Commons or head straight into the Sanctuary to get ready for service.
We're all about family here at Calvary, which is why we make sure that we provide the best experience possible for each member of your family. From newborns to high schoolers, our services provide kids with an engaging environment where they can have fun, make new friends, and learn about Jesus through age-appropriate Bible teaching.
The service lasts about 1 hour and 15 minutes. We begin each service by singing four songs, followed by announcements. From there, you'll hear from one of our pastors as they teach God's Word and how we can apply it to our lives. We then finish up the service with a song as we respond to what we've learned in the teaching and collect tithes and offerings. Prayer partners are also always available after the service.
Calvary Chapel is for everyone, and we want everyone to feel welcome. Most people wear jeans and a nice button-up shirt or blouse, but there are also people who wear a nice dress or suit and those who wear a t-shirt and shorts. So come as you are and dress in whatever feels most comfortable.
Everyone is welcome to attend Calvary. If you have specific questions about our beliefs regarding certain aspects of your lifestyle, we'd love to get together over a coffee and have a chat.
A sixth-generation Floridian, Pastor TJ's spiritual upbringing began with his grandfather, Jamie Buckingham, founder of The Tabernacle Church and author of more than 40 books. He and his wife Amanda met in high school when someone dared her to sit next to him on the bus to a track meet. TJ was so motivated that he took first place, the only race he ever won, additionally getting the girl.
TJ and Amanda have four children: Jamie, William, Savannah, and Eden. Besides raising their kids, the Buckinghams raise goats and bees. Pastor TJ has his master's degree from Liberty University and loves writing Christian magazine articles. If you ever get a chance to visit TJ and Amanda's ranch, you'll experience their great southern hospitality, complete with delicious Brunswick stew, BBQ, or something else just as delicious.
A verse that has encouraged TJ since the second grade: "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord, your God will be with you wherever you go." (Joshua 1:9)
