God can turn any situation around.
Matthew 21:28-32 “What do you think? There was a man who had two sons. He went to the first and said, ‘Son, go and work today in the vineyard.’ 29 “‘I will not,’ he answered, but later he changed his mind and went. 30 “Then the father went to the other son and said the same thing. He answered, ‘I will, sir,’ but he did not go. 31 “Which of the two did what his father wanted?” “The first,” they answered. Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God ahead of you. 32 For John came to you to show you the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes did. And even after you saw this, you did not repent and believe him.
· John’s baptism - where did it come from? Was it from heaven or of human origin?
· If we say “John is from from heaven” then he will ask “then why didn’t you believe him? But if we say “of human origin” we are afraid of the people because the people believe John was a prophet.
Genesis 15:6 Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness.
Mark 1:5 The whole Judean countryside and all the people of Jerusalem went out to him. Confessing their sins, they were baptized in the Jordan river.
Romans 1:17 For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed-a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith.”
· I am a sinner. I stole from you. I did it. I stole $2,000 from you over the past year. I am truly sorry. To show that I am not just sorry, but I repent and want to right the wrongs I created I am going to pay you 4 times what I took. I ask you to forgive me.
Matthew 7:13-14 Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.All Bible references are from the New International Version (NIV) unless otherwise noted.
