Jesus is our champion, our King, our Lord
Isaiah 59:17 He put on righteousness as his breastplate, and the helmet of salvation on his head; he put on the garments of vengeance and wrapped himself in zeal as in a cloak.
Ephesians 6:10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
Colossians 3:3-4 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
Ephesians 6:11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.
Romans 13:14 Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh.
2 Peter 1:3 (NLT) By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence.
Ephesians 6:12-14 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,
· Christ followers stand on the absolute eternal truth of the Word of God
John 17:17 (NLT) Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth.
· We stand in the righteousness of Christ, not our own righteousness
2 Corinthians 5:21 (NKJV) For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
· For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
Ephesians 6:15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
· We need to always be ready to share the gospel when God gives us the open door
1 Peter 3:15 But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect
Ephesians 6:16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
· In order for faith to serve as a shield, we need to know what is ours through faith in Christ, by knowing the Word of God
Romans 10:17 (NKJV) So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Ephesians 6:17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
· We stand on what we KNOW, not on what we FEEL
Romans 6:11 (ESV) So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus.
· As we spend time in the Word of God, we will grow in our ability to handle it with skill and precision against Satan’s attacks
2 Timothy 2:15 Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.
Ephesians 6:18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
· Pastor Mark Balmer: “Prayer is the deciding factor in spiritual warfare.”
1 Thessalonians 5:17 Pray continually
Ephesians 6:19-24 Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should. 21 Tychicus, the dear brother and faithful servant in the Lord, will tell you everything, so that you also may know how I am and what I am doing. 22 I am sending him to you for this very purpose, that you may know how we are, and that he may encourage you. 23 Peace to the brothers and sisters, and love with faith from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 24 Grace to all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with an undying love.
