For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. John 3:16-17
In our modern world, news is able to travel quicker than ever before. We constantly hear; “Have you heard the latest news?” News is meant to be shared, so imagine every newspaper, magazine, and electronic media source featuring John 3:16-17 as the main headline.
• Jesus saves. The ultimate news story began in a stable. It was a life changing moment for mankind when God stepped out of heaven and came to earth as Jesus. His purpose? To save us from our sins. “She will give birth to a son, and you are to call Him the name Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins.” Matthew 1:21
• He is alive. Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection summarize the gospel. 1 Peter 1:3-4 says if we are following Him, we are given a new birth and an eternal, living hope through His resurrection. ...Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures. 1 Corinthians 15:3-4
• He is with us. When Jesus came to earth, He restored our personal relationship with our Heavenly Father. His arrival put redemption and reconciliation into motion. ...and they will call Him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”). Mathew 1:23
In the past, God used ordinary people to make the "good news" known. He has given each one of us the same assignment, to continually spread His gospel. After Paul met Jesus in Acts 9, he simply couldn’t keep the "good news" to himself. He had to share it with everyone! In a way, Christ followers have been given the "cure" for death. We can't keep that "good news" a secret, we must be willing to share the life-saving cure we have found with others!
Jesus had made God’s Name known to His followers through His life, words, and actions. In John 17:26, Jesus says if we know Him, God’s is in us. To share the good news, we need God’s love. Jesus wants us to continue His work.
As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world. John 17:18
The Good News is the greatest story ever told or published! It may sound complicated, but it's not. If you're nervous, the Holy Spirit will help you! Step out in faith and ask God to help you share His good news!
