Meet the Elders

Here at Calvary Chapel, elders are responsible for the primary spiritual leadership and oversight of the church. The Elders are godly men called by God to shepherd, oversee, lead, and care for the church. Our elders' combined counsel and wisdom help ensure that decisions are not self-willed or self-serving to a single individual but are in accordance with God's will for the church.

Calvary Chapel is governed by the Elder Board. The Elder Board has spiritual oversight and is responsible for governing the church, setting its strategic direction, and ensuring the wise use of resources. The Pastors are responsible for carrying out church ministry and overseeing the church staff. The Elders and Pastors are committed to working together to lead the church toward its God-given vision.

Pastor Mark Balmer founded Calvary Chapel Melbourne in 1992 and led the church for nearly 30 years. He had a great impact on our Calvary Family and the people of this community.
