Your Butterfly Resurrection is Coming

Thus says the Lord God to these bones: "Surely I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live." Ezekiel 37:5 (NKJV)

Recently, the Lord led me to consider the miraculous life cycle of the butterfly. The grounded caterpillar starts out life vulnerable to predators and has extremely poor eyesight – distinguishing only between light and dark. Then, after nearly totally liquifying during his cocoon-like metamorphosis stage, it emerges as a butterfly with 4 wings and a brand-new set of eyes containing 6,000 lenses – able to see a wide range of motion, colors, and even UV light! The butterfly brilliantly illustrates resurrection and new beginnings – old to new life.

The last time the Lord spoke to me through butterflies was about 4 years ago. My husband and I had gone through years of extreme spiritual battles in our marriage, and no counselor, book, or marriage workshop seemed to help. Things didn't seem to be getting better, and we were both desperately crying out to the Lord daily. One day, after a particularly difficult conversation, I stepped onto our back porch and saw something I’d never seen before: 2 large, yellow butterflies fluttered and danced around each other so merrily, it seemed like they were tripping over each other with joy-filled love and laughter. As I watched them, I believed God was encouraging me that our marriage would undergo a joyous transformation one day.

Soon afterwards, God intervened and took us on a 2-year journey. The Lord gave my husband instructional dreams, and He trained me how to interpret, respond, and apply those dreams to our marriage. Like each turn of a Rubik’s cube is a step closer to solving it, God used each of those dreams to guide us through a range of deliverances, healings, and breakthroughs. God freed us from long-standing chains and strongholds, and that two-year process brought about a 180-degree turnaround in our marriage. All glory goes to God!

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?" Isaiah 43:18-19

Are you struggling with feelings of discouragement, hardship, or weariness? If you are, imagine God's voice saying this; “Take heart, I am sending you a new wineskin for the new wine that is coming! You will transform and be resurrected to new life. Don't let yesterday’s burdens and trials weigh you down. Get ready, and get excited about a new beginning!”

The next time the Lord puts a butterfly directly in your path, pay attention – if God can speak to Balaam through a donkey, He can speak to you through a butterfly!
