Generous Wisdom

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. James 1:5

Making the best choices isn’t easy. Wisdom is knowing what to do when you get unexpected bills in the mail, a phone call about unplanned car repairs, or a medical diagnosis that includes options. Wisdom is also knowing what not to do in certain situations. Thankfully, we have a God who has all the wisdom we'll ever need.

When I'm struggling with a difficult situation, my thoughts can go in many directions. If I hear something related to my situation on social media, a podcast, or in a conversation, I tend to think about all the scenarios that could happen. That type of thinking can make decisions much harder, and it will often make them way more confusing. But whenever we can't decide what to do, God says to ask Him. Then, He will freely give us His wisdom.

I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. Psalm 27:13-14

There are many voices in our world that claim to offer advice and wisdom, but are all of them hearing from God? When we're not sure what to do, we must quiet those other voices so we can hear God's. We must constantly seek His wisdom! If we're uncertain about how to proceed, we must stop, quiet the world's voices, and seek God.

If you need to make a quick decision, give a prayer to God and ask for His wisdom. But things aren't always urgent... Sometimes, we need to wait patiently before we decide on a course of action. In both scenarios, God will give us His wisdom. When we have God's wisdom, we are able to show His love and kindness to others.

Are you facing a situation that requires wisdom? Then silence everything around you and get quiet before God. He is ready, willing, and able to give you the wisdom you need. But He might be waiting on you to ask Him for it!

Ask for God's wisdom; He will give it to us generously!
