Keeping the Faith

"I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart." Mark 11:23 (NLT)
In life, we expect a lot of things in our world to happen just as they always have. For example, we expect the sun to rise and set every day. After we start our car, we expect to arrive at our destination safely. But faith in God is different. We believe, but sometimes we doubt...
God says we must trust Him with everything, and we must trust Him wholeheartedly. That means taking our focus off the situation and not relying on our human understanding. God is not limited by natural laws or expected outcomes. When we have a strong faith, it moves our expectations from the natural to the supernatural. Why? Because nothing is impossible with God! He determines every outcome, and He always has the final say.
...when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth? Luke 18:8
Faith is the anchor that keeps us grounded when the storms of life are raging, and keeping the faith in impossible situations is a vital part of Christianity. If our faith wavers, we can build it back up by reading and remembering God's promises. If "keeping the faith" is a struggle, remember specific moments God was faithful to you and think about everything He has done for you. Many people keep a written record of those moments so they can refer back to them when doubt creeps in.
The way we handle life's trials is one way to measure our faith. So, don't let what seems to be impossible discourage you! Instead, let God's Word dwell in you, seek His face through prayer, and don't forget to fellowship with other Christ followers. Our faith may get tested by trials, but God will be glorified when we pass through them! The Lord is our greatest source of help, and He is our hope for evermore. He is constantly working in our lives, so if doubt creeps in, He will step in to strengthen and restore our faith.
Don't let life's circumstances distract you. Keep your eyes on Jesus because He is the author and finisher of your faith!
