A Firm Foundation

For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 3:11

There are many opinions on the safety and security of our world, and we've all witnessed changes that have transformed our society. A recent example would be the COVID pandemic of 2019. Everything seemed to change, and people began working remotely and meeting virtually. But it’s reassuring to know that in a constantly changing world, Jesus is our unchangeable foundation.

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Hebrews 13:8

Christ is the foundation of our faith, and He died to give us everlasting life. Our faith in Him is unshakable, and God’s redemptive plan for mankind is perfect. Our strong foundation has withstood the test of time, and it is everlasting! Nothing can be taken from it or added to it, everything God does lasts forever. (Ecclesiastes 3:14).

Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12

Through God’s grace and by our faith, when we follow Jesus, we gain a new life in Him. Out of the abundance we receive, we are able to extend that grace to others, to the ones who don’t know Christ yet. The forgiveness we have received should motivate us to channel our blessings outward and tell everyone we meet about God’s free gift of salvation.

Praise be to God and father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. Ephesians 1:3

All Christ followers must take time to reflect on their personal foundation. Are we doing our part and expanding God’s Kingdom? Are we serving God with a heart of gratitude? Are we making Christ's name known? To build on our strong foundation (1 Corinthians 3:10-11) we must stay focused on Jesus. How do we do that? By prayer, by staying in His Word, and by obeying His commands.

God’s Word says He doesn't just want to work in us; He wants to work through us too. Be a willing vessel for His glory and honor Him in everything you do!
