Only Jesus is Worthy

Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done wonderful things, things planned long ago. Isaiah 25:1
An intriguing view of one reason Jesus is worthy to be worshipped is found in Revelation 5. John’s vision pulls back the curtains of heaven to give us a glimpse of how important the cross is.
In Revelation 5:3-4, John weeps in grief when no one is found worthy to open the sealed scroll in God's hand. We aren't told what's on this scroll, but it is often called the scroll of destiny. Bible scholars believe it contains God’s plan for humanity, and many of them also think it is the "title deed" for the Earth. Then, one of the elders told John not to weep because the Lion of Judah is able to open it! Then, everyone in heaven and on earth fell down to worship the Lamb and sing to Him.
And they sang a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation. You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth.” Revelation 5:9-10
Unless they have a personal relationship with Jesus, everyone on earth will face an eternity of torment and darkness, and they will be separated from God forever. But thanks to Christ, we have been given a chance to receive the most precious of all– the gift of eternal salvation.
We can’t comprehend how Christ who was sinless would give His life in exchange for ours. We can’t conceive how immense His love for us is either... So, with humble hearts, all we can do is bring Him our praise and worship for His greatness.
Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom. Psalm 145:3
To express our gratitude, let's get ready for heaven by lifting our hands and hearts in worship. No matter what our world says, there is only one God, and Jesus was the only one who could have purchased our salvation. As the book of Revelation reminds us, God alone is worthy of our praise!
Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands. Psalm 63:3-4
