The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Deuteronomy 31:8

This verse from Deuteronomy could have been Joseph's life verse. He was hated by his brothers and sold into slavery. He worked hard and rose in position, only to be accused of something he didn’t commit. Those false accusations would land him in prison. Despite the setbacks and false accusations, Joseph always trusted the Lord. He also trusted that God was orchestrating the outcome of each of his undeserved situations.

When Joseph examined his life, he saw the hand of God upon it. His strong faith helped him see God's faithfulness in both the highs and the lows. Knowing he wasn't guilty could have made Joseph angry or cause him to blame God... He could have harbored unforgiveness towards his brothers or complained about being a victim. But Joseph chose to continually trust God in all circumstances! It wasn't always easy, but Joseph patiently waited on God to rescue him.

Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out. Proverbs 10:9

Joseph walked in integrity and security, knowing the Lord was with him. When your faith is secure, people notice. In Joseph's story, he gets noticed by Potiphar, and again by the prison warden. In both situations, Joseph's integrity led to a promotion, and he was eventually placed in charge. Joseph was so trustworthy, no one worried about anything under his care.

Joseph's strong faith enabled him to walk in integrity and security. His life was a living testimony of trusting God completely. Have you ever paused to examine your walk? Do others notice your faith? Are you walking in integrity and security? Or are you holding onto false accusations, mistreatment, and past hurts? In your trials, do you hold God's truth tightly? Do you trust He will never leave or forsake you?

He reached down from heaven and rescued me; he drew me out of deep waters. He rescued me from my powerful enemies, from those who hated me and were too strong for me. They attacked me at a moment when I was in distress, but the Lord supported me. He led me to a place of safety; he rescued me because he delights in me. Psalm 18: 16-19 (NLT)

Christ follower, The Lord delights in you, and desires the best for you! When life gets tough, stay strong by securely walking in God's truth!
