Knowing Truth

Jesus said to the people who believed in Him, "You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teaching. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." John 8:31-32 (NLT)
These verses tell us we must know God's truth before we can be set free from the world's untruth. Every believer has been entrusted with and is accountable for the truth God has set in our hearts. But that doesn’t mean knowing it intellectually or academically; it means knowing it personally and experientially. To know the Word also includes “continuing” in it. To live a God-centered life, we must take His truth seriously enough to live it, speak it, and fight for it. Remaining faithful includes battling evil. Don't be afraid, your Heavenly Father will give you weapons to fight with! The spiritual weapons God gives Christ followers are His wisdom, His armor, and His Word.
I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth. 3 John 4
It's sad, but many people who think they know the truth don't know God's truth. They err by knowing a few half-truths, or they may have a world centered view that is filled with distorted truth. God is calling us to be His voice of truth in a world filled with confusion and clouded by lies. The Spirit of Truth, which has been graciously given to all believers will help us understand biblical truth and principles. The Holy Spirit is who empowers us, teaches us, and guides us into all truth. He is our best source of help to discern spiritual truth and separate it from worldly truth.
Truth essentials:
• Jesus is Truth (John 14:6)
• God’s truth never fails (Luke 1:37).
• Truth frees us from sin, condemnation, and death (Romans 8:1-2)
Knowing, believing, and applying God's truth is the key to overcoming Satan's attacks!
